We had a great trip to Lost Maples State Park over Halloween weekend. The whole crew went -- W, A, Charlotte, & Major. Major's birthday was 11/2, so this was his birthday treat. It's hard to believe that little man is 4!
Anyway, we hiked a lot & Wilson got his work out lugging Charlotte around in her special backpack. You can see a little arm sticking out in the above photo. She fell fast asleep as soon as we put her in! She had the best ride and view in the house -- everyone else had to walk!
Funny story about the backpack...some man saw us & asked "How long have you been backpacking?" (thinking the backpack was full of food, etc for a long trek). Wilson said "About 2 hours...it's a baby back there".
This was at Garner, where we enjoyed hiking and playing around the Frio River. Major took a swim, but the rest of us stayed dry. Wilson failed to warn me that the ducks there are pscyho and one walked up and bit my ankle. Thankfully it was just a little nip, but it startled me! Wilson said I let out a good yelp.

Our cabin had a firepit outside and we loved sitting by the fire & roasting marshmallows. In addition to being a fabulous attorney, husband, and Dad, Wilson could win contests for his roasted marshmallows. They are perfect! And lucky for me he doesn't even like to eat them -- more for me!!!

Major had a good birthday weekend. He was one tired pup after lots of hiking, swimming, and keeping up with all the activity in a new place.
All in all, we had a great trip & look forward to going back next fall!
