It has been a fast & furious end to 2009. We celebrated Christmas with Mom & Dad on the 19th-20th then welcomed the Woods family for Christmas day. We are so thankful that Charlotte's great grandmother Dolores & great grandfather Carl were able to be with us, as well as a surprise visit from Uncle Clinton before he ships out with the Navy in January. Charlotte loved the wrapping paper and surprisingly Major let her have it -- he usually insists upon shredding paper. He just wanted to hang out with his best pal Uncle Clinton. Wilson and I thought we would have to get some doggy prozac when he left, but Maj seems to be perking up a little.
We enjoyed a beautiful Christmas Eve and Christmas day, as the metroplex experienced its first white Christmas since the 1920s. We did make it to church on Christmas Eve, despite road and bridge closures between our house & the church. Charlotte thought the snow was pretty neat yet cold:
She mastered "rocking" on her hands and knees over Christmas & can crawl in reverse. She gets very frustrated that she can't get forward motion yet....we're all in trouble when she figures that out! She has also started babbling a lot -- /dadadada/ & /gagagaga/ especially. She also says "Hey!" quite loudly with a southern drawl and alternates /ba/ and /pa/. It's a hoot to listen to her carry on her own little conversations!
Looking forward to a great 2010!
